In honor of the many beautiful and influential forms of motherhood, we share this epic Mother’s Day surprise with its’ equally captivating story of one extraordinary matriarch.

This special family designed exquisite portraits that paid tribute to their lost family member. These hand-painted compositions spiritually connected the sisters with their mother and physically brought a family together. Their beloved matriarch was the glue that held everyone together. After she passed on, the family started celebrating occasions separately. This surprise gift reveal was the key to uniting them all.

My grandmother passed away in 2005. Her 4 girls are really close, and many of the values my grandmother instilled in them were passed down to their kids. Growing up, Granny was the true matriarch. Despite the memories we have of them together at all the family gatherings held at her house, we never had a photo of just Granny and the girls.

About three years ago, the girls went to Chateau Elan for Mother’s Day and took a beautiful group picture. The only way to include Granny in their special moment was to place an old photo in a frame in the middle.

The cousins arranged to have four separate portraits hand-painted by our talented artists so each sister would have a beautiful portrait with their sisters and mother.
