Four portraits were hand-painted to give as Mother’s Day gifts to four mothers
My grandmother passed away in 2005. Her 4 girls are really close, and many of the values my grandmother instilled in them were passed down to their kids. All the girls have two kids each.
Granny, the matriarch of the family.
Growing up, Granny was the true matriarch. Family gatherings were all held at her house. I remember growing up, I would go through pictures, but I never came across one with any of granny and the girls.
After she passed, each household began its own traditions.
About three years ago, the girls went to Chateau Elan for Mother’s Day and took a beautiful group picture. Sadly, Granny had passed away, so the only way to include her was to use an old photo in a frame and place it in the middle.
We wanted to include Granny in the moment.
My cousins and I wanted to recreate that image and include Granny as if she was right there with them.
The cousins got together and arranged to have four separate portraits hand-painted by our talented artists so each sister would have a beautiful portrait with their sisters and mother.
