A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words on Valentine's Day: A Romantic Gift Idea

A romantic Valentine's Day gift idea from Jack,  the Paint Your Life photo to painting premier gallery website's blog editor.

“How do I love thee? Let me count the ways…”
                                        …Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Love is in the air, and if you want to keep it in the air you’d better start thinking about what you can do this Valentine’s Day to please and delight that special someone you’ve chosen to be your Valentine.

I know…you’re still recovering from Christmas. But Christmas was for the kids and the family and the in-laws...Valentine’s Day is just for you and your sweetheart.

I’ve been married long enough to be ‘co-managing’ a household infested with teenagers, but I’m still a sucker for Valentine’s Day. We tried to convince the kids when they were younger that it was a sort of “parents’ day’ when all the chores had to be done by the kids and the loving parents were waited on hand and foot…but that didn’t last long.

Now we use Valentine’s Day as an excuse to go out and have a nice quiet dinner without them.

It’s time to start thinking about what sort of romantic gift to give your Valentine this year. It’s only five weeks away.

Just to get you started, I want to show you what Jackson (that’s my dear old dog) got me last year as a gift for Valentine’s Day. My wife pretended to be jealous, but I suspect she might have given him a bit of help in ordering an oil portrait (from www.paintyourlife.com , of course).

        Jackson (a.k.a. Jack’s son)

From Jackson’s name you’ve probably deduced that I am the proud father of several daughters (and that Jackson is without a doubt a “boy dog”)…and you’ll probably be hearing from him again.
